December 4–7, 2026, at The Cliff Hotel & Spa in Negril, Jamaica.
Is the Championship open to the public?
The judged competition is closed and juried by a professional panel. The public can attend the parallel Jerk Experience program held alongside it, where the same judges are present throughout, including at every VIP event and on stage in the demo kitchen during the Jerk Experience on Saturday, December 5.

The Jerk Experience
What is The Jerk Experience?
A public, ticketed program held alongside the Championship that welcomes chefs, artisan producers, hospitality partners, and food lovers into a wider celebration of Jamaican food and culture.
How do I get tickets to The Jerk Experience?
VIP Tickets go on sale August 10, 2026, and General Admission on August 20, 2026. A VIP Bundle of tickets and accommodations goes on sale August 1, 2026. See full pricing on the Tickets page and sign up for ticket alerts to be notified the moment they open.
What is included with a Jerk Experience ticket?
Access to the culinary village, demonstration stage, and the wider weekend celebration alongside the judged competition. Full details will be published closer to the event.
Is there an age requirement to attend?
The Jerk Experience is designed for adult guests. Specific age policies will be confirmed with ticket details.
Competing
Who can apply to compete in the Championship?
Cooks with meaningful, demonstrable experience in jerk cooking. Prior recognition at other jerk or food events is welcomed and considered as part of a holistic review.
How do I apply to compete?
Submit an application through the Apply page on this site. Applications are reviewed on merit, with a soft national balance in mind.
What is the prize for winning?
A $10,000 grand prize, the largest purse in a Jamaican jerk competition.
How many contestants compete each year?
Ten contestants are selected each year, chosen for care and craft rather than volume.
How are contestants judged?
By a Jamaican-majority panel of chefs and pitmasters with real culinary credibility, evaluating technique, flavor, and respect for tradition.

What happens if it rains?
The Championship and Jerk Experience proceed rain or shine. Over 12,500 square feet of tenting will be erected across the property at The Cliff Hotel & Spa, covering the competition, dining, and guest areas, so the event continues comfortably regardless of weather. Specific updates will be shared with ticket holders if needed.
Is parking available at The Cliff Hotel & Spa?
Yes. Parking and transportation details will be shared with confirmed guests and ticket holders ahead of the event.
Can I get a refund on my ticket?
